FULHAM WELCOMES ARSENAL TO CRAVEN COTTAGE FOR 2020/21 EPL OPENER

FULHAM WELCOME ARSENAL TO CRAVEN COTTAGE IN 2020/21 EPL CURTAIN-RAISER

The English premier league is upon us this weekend, Saturday 12th September, 2020 at 11:30 GMT and mybssports.blogspot.com brings to you what you need to know- the facts and figures behind the crucial derby between Fulham and Arsenal.

This is the first time Scott Parker and Mikel Arteta will meet as managers in the English top-flight having both featured for Fulham and Everton as players before venturing into management.

Fulham have lost each of their last five premier league matches against Arsenal and in the process conceding 9 goals in their last two defeats against the gunners; 1-5 home and 4-1 away in 2018/19 season.

Arsenal and Fulham have only met on the opening day once previously with the gunners coming from behind to defeat the cottagers 2-1 on match-day one in the 2007-08 season.

Arsenal are looking to win on match-day one in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2009-10 while Fulham have lost their opening day game in each of their last two seasons; 0-2 to Crystal Palace in 2018-19 and 0-1 to Barnsley last term.

Arsenal are facing a newly-promoted side on matchday 1 of a premier league season for a fifth time loosing none of their previous (won 3, drawn 1) while their last defeat against a promoted side on opening day was way back in 1976-77, losing 0-1 at Highbury to Bristol City.
